Kevin R. Garrett
Kevin Garrett hails from a small town in Texas, where he overcame childhood illness with the solid support of his family. Despite early challenges, he graduated from Southern Methodist University with double majors, showcasing his resilience and determination. During college, Garrett excelled in both football and track and field, receiving accolades that led to his recruitment by collegiate football programs. Ultimately, he chose to pursue his dream of playing in the National Football League (NFL), and in 2003, he was drafted by the St. Louis Rams.
Following his successful NFL career, Garrett took time to reflect and explore new interests. He traveled extensively, allowing himself to decompress and gain new perspectives. Passionate about giving back, Garrett engaged in programs that enabled him to share his football knowledge with young athletes and support his community.
In addition to his philanthropic efforts, Garrett ventured into writing. He authored a children’s book that celebrates diversity, self-love, and ice cream, and now presents “Keep Pressing”. This latest work draws on his personal experiences and life lessons to offer readers motivation and encouragement. Through his writing, Garrett aims to inspire others to persevere, pursue their dreams, and never give up, just as he has.
